ABOUT US

Born on Socotra island, Adnan is an experienced English speaking guide with a passion for ecotourism. He has wide knowledge about the island history and culture. He is trained by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for the preservation of the biodiversity, flora, and fauna in Socotra. His hobbies include fishing, trekking, birdwatching, surfing, and diving.

Sahar is a Canadian-Yemeni who's modus operandi is trying make the world a better place. She has a strong interest in promoting women's economic empowerment in the Middle East.  With a passion for ecotourism and giving back to her roots, she works closely with the people of Socotra to bring more tourism to the unique island. In her spare time, you can find her dancing to electronic music and training her two pet parrots.

With extensive tourism experience, Mahdi loves to guide visitors on Socotra island to make their experience a memorable one. He is knowledgeable on the different plants and birds on the island so feel free to ask him as many questions as you'd like! Mahdi also has a wonderful singing voice and loves to dance during the night time camps. He is sure to make you laugh as he's a natural comedian.

Fathi is an easy going guide and speaks excellent English. He is formally trained as a guide by the UNDP. He loves to talk about the history, culture, and politics of the island. He is well versed in the flora and fauna of the island and would be happy to show you all the wonderful sights

Zaher is an experienced chef with an affinity for cooking traditional Socotri meals and seafood. He puts his passion into cooking on display when he serves visitors on the island. He cares deeply about people's individual food sensitives, allergies, and intolerances. Zaher will ensure that your meals are always prepared on time so you can continue enjoying your Socotra expedition!

Born on Socotra island, Ali loves to explore the island by driving. A mechanic by trade, he is knowledgeable on cars. He loves to show visitors around the island and is always ready to serve with a smile. 

Ali is a boat operator and fisherman. He will be taking you on a boat  excursion to Shu'ab beach. He has an incredible sense of humor and will crack jokes and sing songs all the way to the beach. He is an experienced fisherman  and he is well prepared with fishing gear. If you're lucky, you can see him catch some massive fish!

An icon on Socotra island, Abdullah is a man who has lived in a cave for over 20 years. With his cave home situated along the ocean, he loves inviting visitors for fresh seafood. Abdullah is passionate about the marine life in the lagoon near his cave where he loves showing visitors turtles, squids, octopus, sea cucumbers, and more! He is happily married with kids who did not choose the cave life, but come visit him occasionally.
